Managing Recipes
To add a recipe, click the + icon in the top right and choose Import or Create Recipe. Both paths end up in the same recipe editor.
Importing from a URL
- Choose Import from the + menu, or click Import in the left sidebar.
- Several import options are shown, but you'll almost certainly want URL Import, which is already selected. Click Next.
- Paste in the recipe URL and click Load in the bottom right.
Image selection: The first screen lets you pick from images pulled from the page. If there are none you like you can change it later in the editor.
Ingredients and steps: This screen is populated from the URL. Review it for accuracy and make any edits you want. Note: you cannot add new ingredients at this stage; if you need to add one, finish the import and edit the recipe afterward. Click Next when done.
Final screen: Here you can rename the recipe, adjust servings (whether it imports correctly is hit or miss), and add or modify the description. When ready:
- Click Import to import the recipe and go directly to the recipe view.
- Check Edit Recipe before clicking Import to go straight into the recipe editor.
Creating from Scratch
Choose Create Recipe from the + menu. This drops you straight into the recipe editor with a blank slate.
The Recipe Editor
The first page lets you set the name, upload an image, add keywords, set times, and set servings. Only the name is required. Above the name field are tabs for Recipe, Steps, Properties, and Miscellaneous, where you'll add ingredients, steps, and other details.
Adding ingredients: Each ingredient has fields for amount, unit (e.g., cups, tbsp), and the ingredient name. Both the unit and ingredient name fields work the same way: start typing and a dropdown will appear. If it's something you've used before, select it from the list. If it's new, there will be a Create option in the dropdown; click it to add it. From then on it will show up in the dropdown for future use.
When you're done, click Create in the bottom right. The button will change to Save for future edits, and a Delete option will appear next to it.
Editing an Existing Recipe
From any recipe view, click the three-dot menu in the upper right (next to the recipe name) and choose Edit. From the Home or Search pages, you can either open the recipe and use that same menu, or click the three-dot menu directly below the recipe image.
Deleting a Recipe
To delete multiple recipes at once, go to the Search page and click the down arrow next to the search bar. Switch the view to Table, which adds checkboxes to each row. Select the recipes you want to remove, then use the three-dot menu in the header row (in the column header bar) to delete them all at once.
While in the recipe editor, click Delete to delete that recipe. You'll be taken to a confirmation screen; the content listed isn't particularly human-readable (it shows the raw database entries), but clicking Delete again will remove only that recipe.
